Pumpkin Picking

Top: J. Crew {on sale!} / Denim: AG Jeans
Henry's Costume: Pottery Barn Kids / Onesie: Carter's {similar}

We made a visit to our local pumpkin patch this past weekend and had so much fun exploring the grounds at Hunsader Farms. Henry loved crawling through the rows of pumpkins and banging on them like drums! I brought along his Halloween costume and we took some of the cutest photos. I got Henry's costume from Pottery Barn Kids but they have so many cute options it was hard to decide. We went with a pumpkin because, well... who doesn't love a chunky baby dressed up like a pumpkin?! Whats your favorite Fall tradition and have you picked out your pumpkin yet?!

Arhaus Dream Closet

Arhaus Dream Closet

Happy October! I love Arhaus so when I pictured designing my dream closet I knew they would be the perfect fit and I'm so excited to share it with you! Picture a giant walk in closet- I'm talking shelves for all your shoes, bags, and so much room for your clothes you need to go shopping {since we are dreaming right?!} I wanted a space that felt like an extension of my master bedroom rather than a "closet". I started out by picking a giant chandelier that would set the tone for the room and an area rug to bring in my favorite color {blue}. This mirror was gorgeous and it's large size makes it perfect for reflecting light and checking out whatever outfit I put together. I love the white color, but it also comes in a rustic gold. Every girl needs a place to sit in her closet {of course} and I wanted something that could seat a few friends. I went for a deep comfy couch and large ottoman from their Living Room collection that doubles as extra seating for when girlfriends come over! I loved the soft velvet and pop of pink that adds a feminine touch to the room. I accented with a faux fur throw in cream, some throw pillows to keep my blue and pink theme going, and some pillar candles in different sizes to make the room even more cozy. You can take a look at all the items I added on Arhaus or by clicking the links below. Enjoy!

National Consignment Day

Happy National Consignment Day! I teamed up with The Real Real to talk all about consigning your old {or sometimes never worn} goods. If you're like me you have tons of things just sitting in your closet that you haven't worn in a long while, things that don't fit, or shoes you've replaced. Consigning isn't only a great way to clean out your closet and start fresh, its also an easy way to make a little extra money while also being sustainable. 2.5 billion pounds of clothing are saved from landfills a year through resale and donation. Companies, like The Real Real, will take your lightly worn designer clothing, jewelry, shoes and handbags, photograph them, merchandise them, and sell them on their site while you earn up to 70% of the profit! Its super easy and actually a little fun to see your once old things new again. Donating is another great way to freshen up your closet while also making sustainable choices. Contact local charities in your area and see if they're looking for clothing. It's a great way to give back to the community and to help others that are in need. #neverthrowaway
I linked a few things that are currently in my closet {and that I wish were in my closet} listed on The Real Real for way less than retail, you can shop them below!

white denim

Top: Lilly Pulitzer / Bottoms: Lilly Pulitzer / Bag: GiGi New York {similar} / Flats: Chanel {similar}

Just because Labor Day is this weekend doesn't mean you have to pack up your whites and forget about them till next year. I LOVE these jeans from Lilly Pulitzer and you can bet I'll be wearing them into fall. Since it's still summer I paired them with a lightweight striped pullover and added my favorite flats for a bit of a nautical look but I cant wait to wear them with browns and black when the weather starts to turn. You might want to stay away from an all white look after Labor Day, but don't pack away your white pants just yet, especially a great pair of white denim!

D.C Adventures

We had a whirlwind of a weekend in D.C with my husband's side of the family but it was so much fun and I still cant believe some of the things we got to do and see. My brother in-law works on Capitol Hill and my sister-in-law works at the White House so between the two of them we had some pretty incredible experiences! If you don't want to read about what we did you can scroll to the bottom to shop what I wore throughout the weekend.
We kicked of our weekend with a private tour of the Capitol which included a visit to Speaker Ryan's balcony which over looks the National Mall and Washington Monument. We also got a peak inside GOP House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy's office. One of my favorite Americana artists is Steve Penley and several of his works were in McCarthy's office. My favorite was President Lincoln which sits behind his desk. I also loved the gigantic painting in their meeting room called Delaware- the only way they could get it into the building was through a window! After our Capitol tour the cousins were able to visit Vice President Pence's office. We weren't allowed to take any pictures but it was incredible to see where he works and small details like his desk phone which has speed dials such as the Situation Room, Oval Office and Royal Crown. We were also planning on seeing the West Wing, but due to August Renovations, we weren't able to go in. We took a walk along the drive way and made small talk with some Secret Service guys!  We did get to visit the White House during after hours and were able to go bowling in the Truman Bowling Alley. It was a bucket list experience that I didn't even know should be on my bucket list! It was so much fun and to be in the same space as past presidents and congressional leaders was so amazing.
On Saturday we took a public tour of the White House and it was wonderful to get a peak inside such a historical house. If you're ever in the D.C area I highly recommend it!
We ended our weekend with Sunday Brunch and celebrating the life of Erik's Aunt and Uncle Monday Morning. They were laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery and it was a remarkable service. So incredible to see all the men and women who gave their lives for our country and it truly gives you a whole new perspective of how blessed we are to live in a country with such freedoms. This is another must visit place if you're ever in the area!
